In the first half of 2022, the replacement program for old and energy-intensive electrical appliances (air conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines, etc.) will "run", as revealed by the Minister of Environment and Energy Kostas Skrekas.
The minister emphasized that the guide for this ambitious program is almost complete, while beneficiaries will be all Greeks but with prioritization criteria according to their economic situation and will be linked to the withdrawal of old devices, he said speaking to SKAI.
The program will start this year but will continue in the next period as well, as according to Mr. Skrekas, whenever funds arise, its funding will also increase.
According to the minister, the goal is for all homes "to be able to replace old energy-consuming appliances with new ones, so that we can reduce electricity costs and help the environment and have a much better home appliance".
Electricity subsidy
In fact to the electricity subsidy, Mr. Skrekas emphasized that "The discount will be written on the first page of the bills. They are still not visible to everyone. But they will be seen in the liquidators". He emphasized that the subsidy "for businesses will be implemented from 1/1".
He also explained: "We will cover 50% of the increase in businesses. Especially for ovens, we also subsidize natural gas with €30. We are facing a huge wave of imported increases."
